Or in this case...Texas. Day one in The Dominican Republic and I can tell you this so far; I am so ungrateful. Americans are so ungrateful. We can have almost anything "at the tip of our fingers," yet we don't appreciate most things anymore. AC for example, did you realize that's a...wait for it.. luxury? And I'm not even done...shoes, cars, cell phones, internet..the list goes on. I'm fully aware that we all know this way, way, WAY, back in our minds. But if you'd seen the joy, like butter to toast, clearly spread over these poverty stricken kids faces, it would be on the forefront of your mind too. I wish had half as much joy, while "living it up" in the US as these children did when jump roping, barefoot, in the heat of the day. I thought God sent our group here to be a blessing to these family's lives, but maybe it's the other way around.

I saw that same joy the first time I visited SA as well. I'm thankful he sent you to meet our dear friends. Praying that He will teach you much about the world and yourself as you seek and serve.
